ATLANTA – June 1, 2000 – ActiveGroup is partnering with QuickTest/Heakin, a division of the OmniSource Group, the nation’s premiere mall-based interviewing network, to create the first Internet broadcast of mall-intercept surveys that allows for fast results of market research projects.
The broadcast service, called ActiveAnswers, which will be launched in select locations by the end of July, replaces traditional methods of delivering consumer opinions gathered in shopping malls. ActiveGroup expects the service to be rolled out in all of QuickTest/Heakin’s nearly 100 locations within a year.
ActiveGroup webcasts market research surveys of shoppers, offering the first and only media streaming from mall-intercept facilities. Like all ActiveGroup services, these results can be viewed live and on-demand from any computer with Internet connectivity.
ActiveAnswers assists market researchers, advertising agencies, political groups and other organizations in surveying everything from consumer opinions to political views. The results of these research events can be delivered as quickly as within a day.
ActiveAnswers improves the effectiveness of mall-based market research by adding an element of immediacy to the surveys. For the first time, media streaming allows the surveys to be viewed by research end-users and analysts as the interviews are being conducted. Researchers can be certain that the survey took place as briefed and according to their specifications.
“In the past, to view the progress of a study, clients have had to bear the expense of visiting individual facilities to observe the interviewing process,” said David Nelems, ActiveGroup president. “ActiveAnswers allows for the market
–more-
researcher to view the interviews as they happen or on demand without leaving the office.”
ActiveAnswers may also be used for pretesting formal market research. Samples of target demographics can be surveyed before focus groups or questionnaires are administered to gauge the appropriateness of the research.
2/ActiveGroup Launches ActiveAnswers
ActiveGroup
is leading a revolution in marketing research by using the Internet as a tool
to increase the efficiencies and effectiveness of focus groups. ActiveGroup’s proprietary streaming video
techniques are used to webcast focus group sessions live and on-demand over the
Internet. Clients can communicate with each other and with the focus group
moderator from anywhere in the world while they observe the session from their
computers, as if they were behind the mirror, anytime, at any computer, over
any bandwidth – including a regular telephone line.
ActiveGroup
has already conducted nearly 1000 hours of focus groups online. More than 140 focus group facility locations
across the U.S. have partnered with ActiveGroup to offer this technology. With
one location in London, ActiveGroup anticipates global expansion of at least
100 more locations in the U.S., Europe and the Pacific Rim by year-end.
